You need to cut it that short??

Yeah you'll still be able to use other stocks, you mean like a fullstock right?

Also, when I cut my metal body to fit a G&P stubby fullstock on, I didn't smooth it at all. Wasn't needed.

How short is it supposed to be for a G&P crane stock? I searched the net and some ppl said to cut down to 3 cm. Can someone clarify this for me please?

If you have calipers or even a ruler, it's not hard to measure how much you need.

Just measure from the mouth of the buffer tube (from the end that attaches to the receiver) to the lip on the inside that the screw/washer rests against.

I would cut it with a hacksaw, and just remove any burrs with a single cut file to even it out.

Are you sure it said cut it down to 3 cm? Are you sure it wasn't cut off 3 cm? I know I left about 1" 1/2 and my G&P crane stock fit just fine.
