Hop up question.

Changing the inner barrel on my gun (CA53) to a Prometheus tight bore. Hop up is out of the gun, inner barrel is removed..... Now, on replacing the inner barrel...
I have gone through the R&R walkthrough here. http://www.airsoftretreat.com/review...uct=118&cat=48
Now my question has to do with the brass spacer, it does not tell me what to do with it, or even shows it. What is the correct procedure with this brass spacer. It is very tight, and it is difficult to slide on the new barrel. I can get the barrel in without it no problems, but I would like to know how to correctly get that brass ring spacer installed correctly. Thanks in advance.

Actually, you can just barely see the spacer in some of the pictures, number 7 for example.

If you're having trouble installing it, you can put it on very last. Just put it over the barrel, slide it down and push it into the space between the barrel and the chamber as far as it'll go (without going pass the C-clip).

Mechbox.com is down for repairs right now too, Thanks Saint, That is what I figured, but it is very tight and does not slip on more than 1cm. Can I take some sandpaper and sand the barrel down a bit? to try to get it to slide on easy. I know to not to sand beyond where the c clip is located correct??

Try lubing it, sanding is not a good idea as it might be uneven. The ring itself is less than a 1cm, so once it's hidden by the hopup chamber itself, you don't need to get it any deeper.

I had two guys put Prometheus barrels in and I couldn't fit a brass spacer ring over either...couldn't even get them started. I tried about 6 other rings that I had as extras and no go with any of them.

Finally gave up and just assembled the rifles without the spacer...

Yeah it was tight, I lubed and it helped a little, but not good enough. So I did take some fine sandpaper and just sanded lightly the area between the hopup slot and the c clip slots, it worked good, ring slipped on easy then.
Barrel is in, and gun is back together, and battery is charging. I have to test with .20 .25 and .28 and see what works best with the new barrel now. Then next week will be with the new Systema mechbox setup. And I have to break in a new KJW P229 this weekend
Thanks for the input guys.
