Indoor BB target

I have been trying to come up with something for testing my Airsoft guns in my room.

Everything that I have come up with is either really big and ugly / doesn't work very well, or make the BB's ricochet all over my room.

I have tried setting up boxes and having a towel hang down to absorb the impact, and stuffing a 2Liter plastic bottle full of foam and other things.

What have other people come up with and how well do they work?

I got a Crossman sticky target from Wal Mart for indoor plinking, costs $10 - well worth it.

I got one of those, and it actually works great from a distance(15'-20'). They stick very well to the target and then roll down into a tray. But I wouldn't advise it be used for too much full auto, or anything with a high velocity. My vsr went right through.

Those work well as long as your guns are under 350 fps. Any more than that, and they go right through. I've been through about a dozen of those targets in the last year and have a bigass hole in my wall behind where I was hanging them

I have a 24"x24"x18" wooden box that I use as a backstop. I have a 2" "lip" at the bottom and top. I stapled an old piece of curtain (4 ply) at a 45º angle, and another single ply of the curtain hanging loose at the front. That catches at least a good 95% of my BBs.

Fold cardboard so it's about 4-6 layers thick. If you want to reuse BBs and you have packing foam or some rags lying around, get a box and cover the back with the foam/rag. On the front you can just either leave it or cut it out and put up whatever paper targets you want. I use 3-4 cartons with old plastic bags/cardboard inside as targets in my garage. The plastic bags trap the bbs in the carton an when I'm finished I can just throw away the cartons... no mess .

take a box, cut a hole in one side. hang a towel in the center of the box and put target over the hole.

A buddy of mine, Invasian, came up with a great BB catcher. Take a box and stuff it with plastic grocery bags. Simple as that and it's pretty easy to empty

On topic... If you have the room you can hang a sturdy tarp or blanket on one wall and then at the bottom scrunch the tarp/blanket up so when the BBs fall down they collect in the fold. I find a blanket works better as they tend to absorb the impact better than tarps and thus they don't bounce away.

Had one, shot the shit out of it, the BB's went inside the sticky target and then cracked the back plate. Not good for 400FPS AEGs.

A friend and I came up with a pellet catcher that might work with BBs. We took a metal electrical box and stuffed it full of plumber's clay or putty roughly 2-3 inches worth. Then used magnets to hang targets. Works very well though cleaning is a bit of a pain especially with pellets that penetrate deep into the clay. Everything was found at a Home Depot all together for $60, had it since September and haven't changed out the putty yet.

I also did a cheap solution for at home. Took a box, stuffed the shooting end with 4 inches of scrap crumpled paper, behind that would be a phone book or a couple Ikea catalogues, then a 1.5 inch thick metal cookie tray (or 3 inches of the cheap aluminum stuff). Tapped it all up and catches my .45 metal BBs from my airguns like nothing, figuring 6mm BBs shouldn't be much different. Still keep shooting glasses on just incase of ricochettes but haven't had a problem so far.

Cardboard boxes work quite well, if you find your gun has a higher FPS; drape a blanket/towel inside the box and close the box. your shots ought to pierce the front and the towel/blanket will absorb the shot leaving it to just drop inside the box. Good for recollection.

If your shots are still hitting too hard you could wet the bottom of the towel, or weigh the bottom somehow. Either way, make sure it's secured at the top.

Works great with Tv or other large appliance boxes. Staple/tack a piece of paper to the front to use as a target, this may be exchanged at any point to 'refresh' your target area.

i use garbage can(stuff some soft cloth in it) from IKEA seal the top with anykind of target, and then put a tall box under,there you go a cheap bbtarget!!
