Out of curiosity...

How much time and money have you guys spent on your airsoft projects? I see guys getting out and selling off their customized, pimped out, upgraded, sometimes even assembled from spare parts, airsoft guns. I'm quickly noticing that this is a sport that you dedicate a hell of-a-lot to and sometimes its not just time and money.

I've yet to really touch the internals of my stuff. I'm thinking of getting what I want first then what I need to run them (battery + charger), then accessorise them later, then worry about upgrades last. I've already spent close to $2k on this sport and its only really been a little over 2 months. I'm thinking I'll invest after January, another $1k over 3 months getting all the proper gear and getting everything in working order.

Iv spent about 3500-4000 on guns and upgrades alone and haven't played a single game yet!
I am planning on making my first game some time in the early spring but not before spending an nether 2000-3000 on kit and customising my guns. Then probably 3000 to 5000 on seeking out an Inokatsu M60E3 and other guns and upgrades, and it wont end thare.

I have only gone to one game and that was with a rental, so that dosent count.

But after that I invested about $2000 into my 3 AEG's.
(real sword type 56, KWA m4s, JG416)

I have yet to do any upgrades to them yet and I am actually planning on going the same route that your taking.

I am currently in the process in buying my gear + accesories.
I am approximating that this will run around another 1000$ ( I have already spent about 300$ ordering BDU + vest + helm for winter games + radio )

As for upgrading my gun I have left that last, I dont think this step should be rushed.
IMO for a begginer like ourselves is not to rush into this part and intime and practice we can jump into this step.

But i am planning to buy a kraken or cheap similar gun and play around the gearbox. Will take it apart and put it back together for learning platform.

(although it's a v3 mechbox I am hoping that I will still be able to gain something from this in the end.)
Then once I establish somewhat of a foundation. I will begin to modify my AEG's.

**

Basically I am somewhat on the same boat as you and I have already put in at least $2500

My SG550 alone is sitting at $850, and I haven't even started working on the internals. I figure it will be at $1100 by Christmas.

5 months in and it's already adding up to ~$800+

AEG $450
Sidearm $190
Mask $45
BDU's ~$60 (but I've had them for a while so technically they don't count)
Springers ~$200 (Getting another one come Christmastime)
BB's (none yet, I borrowed last time) BUT I'm going to do a purchase of ~$100 worth of BB's

I lost count, and don't really want to know. I have German+webbing, Black Spec Ops kit, Desert BDUs and pouches and complete Cadpat kit. I rarely use any of the kit except the Cadpat one. The Cadpat kit alone is ~$600. That's without guns and bbs...

And I don't work

Nothing funnier than getting better ROF and Accuracy than a PTW on a plastic gun... xD

Mind you. I jest about it being a PoS. But I do like that gun. Needs more metal. Next Upgrade... Next $250...
