Korean War
Anyone ever thought of doing a Korean war game? It would be quite similar to WWII I would assume, in terms of the allies at least. It would be fun to do a simulation of the battle of Kapyong, though you might need quite a few more people than available (Though Chinese forces could always use more modern automatics if needed, they had automatics I believe) while the Commonwealth forces would have bolt actions.
I would love to host something of the sort, but I do not even have a rifle yet, nor am I aged verified, but the idea is interesting I think. |

For the Korean War, the communist forces would be hard to represent. They used PPSh's and Mosin-Nagants mainly. No AK-47s in service there at the time. The South Koreans and Americans had M1-Garands, also hard to find, but Thompsons would perhaps be appropriate. The M2 Carbine would be around, so you could use the M1 Carbine.

mostly agree above, for the PLA during the korean war, they used various weapons made by various countries,eg,the type 38 arisaka captured from the japs, the chaingkaishek mauser 98k,and mausers made by the chinese native arsenals..of course several mosin nagants from soviet, the ZB series LMG,and the LMGs from jps, the sten SMG,pphs-41 from soviet, and some SMGs from swiss,........
and countless kinds of pistols as well.. however, by some reports from PLA at the time, the most effective weapon is the M1 carbine that captured from the KMT,so coming to airsoft,we can make an M1 CARBINE made by marushin as a replacement. and i ve got the gear for the pla below: |

It just occured to me that another communist option is the Mauser Broomhandle.

I have always fancied doing a US 1950's loadout after seeing the new Indiana Jones film (I love those smart OD caps the Soviet infiltrators wear) I have a BAR and a Thompson, but I am not sure what kind of uniform would be appropriate.
What cut would you use? would a WW2 US helmet be usable? also what kind of boots were worn? (black leather?)

yes it would be black leather boots for korean war. and p.s. a little interesting note i had a family member of mine in the battle of kapyong, it was really a intense battle from the stories that i have read.(and they did have some full auto weapons on them at the time, i believe they were some HMG i cant remember at the moment, but they mainly were issued bolt action rifles for canadians anyways)
