adjust you're hop up, and use 0.25g BBs.

how far are you expecting?

mmm 175ft sounds a bit too much.. I would expect some kind of precision at 100ft.

Well, you should be able to reach 175 feet or more with heavy BBs, but at that range, your shots won't be accurate. Short barrel guns will have an effective range of about 100-125 feet, and longer barrels out to about 150 at most with any kind of accuracy. And by accuracy, I don't mean you'll be able to tag the bullseye on a target. I mean you'll be able to hit a man-size target with fair reliability.

To an extent. Generally, 360-380 FPS (on .20's) is the "sweet spot", then putting in a good hop-up rubber, shooting .25s or .28s, and a tightbore will increase accuracy.

A higher FPS on light rounds (like .20s) will be counter-productive. Since you have an M16 length barrel, I'd recommend changing to .25's if you haven't yet and put in a good hop-up rubber, and adjust the hop-up properly.

What make is your gun?

CDN_Stalker can hit a mansized target with a burst of 0.28g (360fps using 0.20g BBs) out to 200ft with an MP5 using a stock 229mm barrel. Proven too, with witnesses.

Sorry, had to interject. Should add that to the list.

That's not bad. I'd replace the hop-up rubber at least, maybe the whole unit (not sure of JG hop-up quality). You could put in a heavier spring, but I think a hop-up would do you more good.

www.airsoftparts.ca for the hop-up rubber.

I haven't touched an M16 hop-up for quite some time though (and even then it was in an L85), so you might have to do some googleing on that. I'm not sure how an M16 comes apart.
