Any bearing bushings tend to not be happy with some gears such as stock TM or CA, jams on the shaft and doesn't usually come off (if they do, , makes shimming a real nightmare) and if they do, at times will come off in pieces.

Unless you are buying new gears to go with them, and are going to run a high speed low fps set up, they aren't worth buying.

Agreed. Ball bearings are meant ONLY to go on to high quality aftermarket gear sets. They do not fit well on most (all?) OEM gear sets.

I tried a set of guarder 6mm bearings and found that they were not actually 6mm in diameter! They sat loose inside the gearbox.

thing is the gun is shooting 400 fps, so the stress is consiterable.

bad idea? or is the quality of the bearings good enough to stand up?

systema helical torgue ups are the gears

Guarder calls their solid bushings as "bearings."

Take a look at what you have... are there moving parts? Is there an inner and outer race that encases tiny ball bearings? If so, then you have the bearings.
If you have a solid chunk of metal, with two "oil channel" cut to the inside where the axle goes, then you have the bushings.

If using the above identifiers shows that you have ball bearings, STOP using them immediately and either swap your spring or change to bushings. 6mm ball bearings WILL FAIL at the velocity you're shooting, if it hasn't already begun to fail!

If using the above identifiers shows that you have the guarder metal BUSHINGS, then you are fine. Those bushings are capable of withstanding well over 500fps setups.
