I Need Some Help With Hop-Up

I've recently upgraded my Mp5-j with a tight-bore barrel in hopes of little bit more accuracy, but have not had too much of an improvment. When i took my gun apart i noticed that my bucking had completely gone to shit (had scratches EVERYWHERE on the inside) after discovering that my friends had put about 4000 rounds of craptastic .12's through it. I've only been in the sport for about a year now (still a noob...) and have no hands-on experience with hop-up's or buckings, and was wondering if somone could point be in the right direction (preferably something from a canadian retailer ie: no international shipping)...and another question - do "shark-fin" buckings work well? Thx in advance.

Get a couple of new hopup rubbers (they're cheap and it's always handy to have a spare or two) from Airsoftparts.ca. Jugglez (his ASC name) is great and will have them out to you in no time.

If your MP5 is shooting hot (380-400+fps w/ 0.2bbs) go with a Guarder black. If it's an indoor gun try a softer one like a Guarder clear.

Those are the ones I use...other guys will swear by others.

Obviously...use good quality bbs.

Tys is on the money. Good old guarder black.
I'm currently using one of the madbull shark fin sleeves in my mp5k. It's okay, not great, needs regular silicone oiling.
The fins are supposed to stop double feeding(not that it was an issue) but I would avoid them for regular mp5s as the rubber wall is a bit thicker and near impossible to fit into an mp5 hop-up body.
Also, the x-bucking(or whatever it's called) is finnicky and won't work in all guns. Stick to regular type bucking.

I dont like guarder rubbers, if you can tolerate int'l shipping and are on a tight budget get TM ones they are 3-5 dollars ea.

I've tried various sets of rubber and have gone back to the Guarder clear just because I felt it worked the best in both my MP5s, and also my CA M24 shooting close to 500fps (current rubber is an RH65 with a X bucking, call it franken rubber if you want, but hs been working well in there for over two years now.) Just recently took my AEGs apart to give a lube, check out the internals and to also install new clear rubber.

And the MP5 is a very accurate gun even in stock form (the barrel mounting is very stable), so adding a tightbore won't give you much of an improvement.......... unless a long tightbore in an MP5K with a suppressor.................
