KSC/KWA USP slide disassembly
I have this KWA USP and I'm trying to swap the slide for one with trades.
The problem is, I can't seem to get the damn blowback assembly out. I removed the screw with an allen key, removed the rear sight and the whole assembly sort of wobbles but won't come out. If you look at this diagram: http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j1...s/ee7e6801.jpg I think part #3 is keeping it in there, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it off. Also, trying to get the inner barrel out of the outer barrel, there's this small pin I think is holding it in, and I'm unsure how to get that pin out also. Any input would help. |

one arm of the blowback unit has a small indentation in it, use a small flathead to pull that arm slightly towards the center of the slide then turn the slide upside down and hit it against your hand the unit should fall out. For the barrel turn the screw underneath and pop the small plate up make sure not to lose the spring and pin! Hope this helps I'm at work and don't have part numbers.

Ha! Yes, that did it.
However, my new slide didn't have an extractor with, so I tried to pry the one off my old slide and discovered...it's very cheap plastic. Any idea where I can buy another of those little plastic bits? It's part 3 which I mentioned above. Also, any ideas as to how to keep the front sight on? Friction isn't going to do it for very long, I'd hate to lose a sight on the field. Metal glue? |

Superglue will hold that front sight on. Just make sure it's lined up where you want it and don't overdo it.

I put a dab of blue loc-tite under my front sight, then lined it up and let it dry.

Thanks for your replies!
Incidentally, I e-mailed KWA to see about getting a new extractor since it wasn't listed on their website. They do sell it, it just isn't available for online order. You have to call in to get it. So if any of you guys ever wreck your extractor while trying to get it out: "We do have the part available for purchase and below is the part information for your consideration. PT0003-0003 Extractor $3.78 Shipping not included - $7.35 (USPS-Priority Mail) Please call us to place your order since the part is not listed on our website and by doing so we can expedite your order quickly. Mention ticket #1195 when placing the order." |
