TM FA MAS Vertical Grip
Okay. I have seen French troops on the news carrying their FA MAS with a VERTICAL GRIP set up. I have an idea how to do this but, can anyone give me any tips before I do my modification? To those that have done this, does the lower handguard stay in place? Anyone can tell me where to get the REAL STEEL rails the French troops use? ....Just fell in love with the set up. I will post pics. once I have done this.

Didn't take long to fix the itch. Installed a spare 5 inch rail. On top of it is a Yankee Hill 1/2 scope raiser. Vertical Grip is a CAA. Feels like its been reborn. Fa Mas became a joy to carry. Here's a picture. Hope the URL of the picture is right.

Here's another picture. Anyone interested in me showing pictures of this with a RS Eotech and Aimpoint Magnifier and a RS Surefire Vertical Grip, let me know. By the way, the "barrel-mounted" light is a RS Surefire 6v Universal Weapon Light.

What?!! No comments??!!! Truly, Fa Mas is an underappreciated rifle. To those who are curious, the bottom handguard where the rail is attached is too flimsy. If you do this modification, try not to carry or lift this rifle via the vertical grip as it cannot support the weight of the rifle. You might end up breaking a tab inside if you keep doing this.

Wow, I don't really like FA MAS rifles that much, but I like that one. It turned out nicely.

The idea of having two lights mounted on you rifle is a tip from Surefire. 1 primary light and 1 back up light. My guess is having a back up light means another flashlight sale for them.

Great job man. I would prefer a bit of a thinner grip more towards the front but that's my opinion. Again, great job
