Technically speaking the upper receiver of an armalite is unrestricted so if you could find a site willing to ship you the upper only of a body, it would be alright but customs is always finicky. The lower is an absolute no-go. Sometimes lightly used and even new ones come up here so just keep an eye on the classifieds. You'll might have to buy the entire receiver as they're usually sold together.

You can order an upper receiver from abroad if you wish. It's not restricted. Only the lower receiver from an AR is.

Are their sites that sell just uppers? I have yet to find any retailer oversea's that sells just an upper that is not for a PTW.

Aside from the above mentioned websites, airsoftglobal also carries single package upper recievers made for G&P bodies.

Reason I ask is because I was thinking of buying a Dytac Vis-2 from Airsoft Global, and I was unsure about the import restrictions on receivers. Edit: I know the lower is the restricted/prohibited part. It's just the upper I am unsure of. It's good. People make mistakes and border agents aren't immune, if it does get seized you should contest the decision.

No it's not a restricted part, like all the other posts said. You can order it no problem.
