M4 - Dust Cover Latch

Hey guys; Gordo here again. I got a Jing Gong - System S - M4 Carbine AEG, and the little spring loaded latch the keeps the dust cover closed has busted.

I have found a complete replacement dust cover that comes with the latch on it, on the EHobby Asia Website, but I am not sure if this G&P latch will work on my JG AEG, as it is intended for a TM M4.

Before I order this thing from Hong Kong, I thought that I would see if anyone here has any thoughts on if this item will work for me, or if anyone knows if there is one available a little closer to home.

I would also be interested to hear if anyone out there has an old latch kicking around in their spare parts bin that may be willing to sell to me?

Let me know if you have anything that might help me out of a bind.

Thanks for reading and replying

Gordo

I may have one in the parts bin!

I am in the middle of unloading my shelves for the move into the office, and am finding all sorts of little parts. I'll take a look for it tonight.

It will not work. The G&P ejection port cover is smaller in width than most TM clone receivers.

Hey Jeff; That would be awesome! While you are rumaging around, please keep your eyes open for a Battery Charger. I am looking for one that charges both the small and the large plug end battery packs. If you find something please let me know, maybe we can do a deal in the near future.

Hey Cheeseman, thanks for your input. My intent was just to remove the little spring operated catch from the G&P dust cover and try to install it on my JG dust cover. They look roughly the same to my eye anyway.

Thanks guys

Gordo

hmm i think g&p aftermarkets dusts covers dont have a latch... they remain close all the time by the torsion spring... could be wrong but the 2 i have does not have a latch on them
