Metal quality: CYMA vs D-Boys

Hello all,

I am planning to purchase an AK-74UN and want to have an AEG with TM compatibility, coupled with being relatively affordable as this will be my 3rd AEG (technically 4th if you count my one loaner gun) in order to maintain marital harmony.

If my research is correct the best options are either THIS or THIS

One concern I have is the over all quality of the metal components of the AEG itself. I read some opinions about "pot-metal" for D-Boys and that they are to be avoided like the plague. Others say CYMA's quality is not any better.

What I would like to know from those of you who have owned, handled, or are familiar with either of these models to give me your experinced opinion on the metal quality. Which one is/would be better?

If there is another make (CA, VFC, etc) that is vastly superior for the same make of gun and within the parameters set out above (TM compat. and not too expensive ) then by all means inform me.

Thank you.

D-Boys has steel guns now, none of that pot metal crap.

Also another stake in the coffin is that CYMA isn't 100% compatible. Something about not having the right space tolerances for the gearbox shell or something.

Between those two, hands down to D-Boys.

I've had Dboys and CYMA. Dboys doesn't seem too bad, others forbid them as they are known for poor quality control, sometimes you win, sometimes you loose.
My latest purchase was a CYMA CM049 and am very impressed with the quality of metals used in the build. Alas the CYMA is not compatiable with others externally so that is the main drawback working with clone guns.
