M4 Metal body recomendations
Well, about a year ago i made a thread on behalf of my American cousin wondering about M4 brands, and what you recommended for him.
Of course, you all said CA and G&P .ect, unfortunately, he got cold feet last minute, and bought a echo 1. I was down there about a month ago, and was actually pretty impressed by how it was holding up. While i was there I helped him clean it up, re-greased it, shim .ect. He likes to play, but doesn't really have an interest in the mechanical side of airsoft. He did however, decide to buy a metal body for his M4 He has narrowed it down to CA, G&P, Gaurder or King Arms. All 3 are roughly 140 bucks, and include basic hardware and a 1-piece hop-up. What would you recommend for him? He asked me to post here as he finds most American boards useless :P

My money usually sides with G&P and King Arms. They are both well known companies that have been in business for a decent amount of time and produce decent quality items. Personally for myself I enjoy King Arms bodies because of their faux locking bolt feature. Its nothing fancy but its just one of those neat little addons that I find extremely cool. Both G&P and King Arms have fairly decent one piece hopups that are included.
Its a shame that your cousin did not initially purchase something full metal off the start and now he has to shell out money for a reciever whose value is probly equal to the value of his AEG. For what its worth, I would just buy an entirely new full metal AEG. If he has to get a metal body, I wouldnt bother investing to much into it, a mid to lower end body like a dboys would be fine. If he must have one of the brands listed above, keep it between G&P and King Arms.

Well I`m a diehard G&P fan when it comes to metal accessories, but King Arms is getting more and more impressive...

G&P, In the states it is very easy to get CA Bodies and they should be far cheaper than 140.

I too will push for G&P and King Arms. I've never owned a King Arms, but I have seen them and they are wonderful. Owned a G&P, and they are outstanding as well. So, if he has the money and wants to spend it on a metal body, I too will recommend those two.
But I like T7s idea. I mean if he is going to spend that much on a body, he might as well save up a bit longer and just get a full metal AEG. Not that expensive for him.

Well. right now he and his girlfriend are driving across the country. He just got a new camper thing for the back of his pick-up truck, and decided to go on a raod-trip to alaska. He s coming back through my area on the way to new-england though, so ill talk to him about it when here here. thanks guys.
As for T7s recommendation of a new full metal M4, What about one of those new Echo 1 M4s?

Unless their practices have changed then this echo M4 could be anything really, perhaps its a rebranded JG? I think the majority of echo guns are JG rebrands. Has JG come into practice of using metal bodies yet? Im not entirely up to date on JG either. Its hard to really say what this M4 could be a like but I think its safe to say that Echo guns are usually on par with JG quality. Id just like to put it out there that Ive googled full metal armalites by ICS for as low as 300USD ,CA for as low as 265USD and G&G armalites for as low as 250 USD.

G&P M4 metal bodies are nice, but they have some issues when trying to mount a front end from another company as G&P uses some odd threading for the barrel nut. I have a DMR project on the go, and a Madbull JP Rifles front end absolutely will not fit on a G&P metal body. You need to shell out an additional $40 to get a special tool to re-cut the G&P threads to make it fit....
I also like King Arms.

I love classic army body since their cheaper you can get some for 90$ in the us and the threads fit most front. Has for g&p and king arm sometime you get some issues and need some modification to make parts fit well. Has skruface said jp rifle front end dosent fit g&p, i know i had to buy a ca sheel to fit it since i dident want to modify my g&p body.
So unless you want that super h0t custom look id say get a ca body. Mentos
