****! piston exploded
I'm running a JG V3 reinforced mechbox, systema magnum motor, 10.8 nihm, M120 spring and torque up gear set.
I just purchased a MA full metal teeth piston and the damn thing was torn up. It also managed to strip my bearing piston head. Can someone PLEASE (only if they KNOW what they are talking about) recommend an extremely strong piston with full teeth and piston head please (pref with sorbo).

your running it too fast, use a smaller battery
And your going to fry your trigger contacts with a 10.8v battery |

I've already rewired everything on the AEG. Premium avionic grade wiring and lower resistance high heat components. Its fine. I want my aeg to shoot this fast. That's my choice. Now I want to know what parts can handle this abuse.

none will,
You will need a stronger spring, the piston doesnt have enough time to travel foward before the Sector gear reengage the piston it doesnt matter how strong the piston is, if the sector gear hit the piston halfway forward you are fubar Last edited by flack; November 23rd, 2009 at 18:55.. |

System super core piston?
System, not systema I personally have no experience with them, but i have heard from a few sources they are the best you can get. http://www.mechboxmechanic.com/?p=123 http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=4603 I have been meaning to pick one up to give it a shot, but don't have a gun beastly enough to need one

You're ROF is too fast. Either back off on the voltage, or use a stronger spring. Your gears are cycling before the piston reaches battery (full forward).

I don't think that's the case. I got a perfect full mag out of the setup before it did this. Even when I ran a 300 fps spring with the same setup it was fine. Its the stress, not the ROF. If what you are saying is true how can people run 12v lipos with 350~400 fps springs.

They're telling you to use a harder spring not a softer one. MORE FPS.

Since he's in North Bay, am wondering where he got the avionics grade wire from.

yea...i would agree with the other forum members, get a stronger spring or use a smaller voltage battery.

maybe a lighter piston?

alot of people use 11.1v lipos with M120 + systema magnum and no one has this type of problem. It's not the ROF(I doubt it goes over 30RPS either), the piston was probably a bad one to begin with.
Again, like I said, Prometheus HARD Piston |

Thank you for giving an INFORMED answer. Once again I had the same setup and switched to a 300 fps spring which actually INCREASED THE ROF and everything worked fine. The second I added the M120 the piston broke. Its a $15 piston.. its crap.... its not a misalignment with issue or a timing issue. Jesus...
I'll pick up a Prometheus Hard Piston and prove it. Thanks Skladfin. BTW would an Aluminum piston or full metal (teeth and piston) piston be a better option? I'm assuming it would eat through sorbos pretty fast due to the weight.
