G&G M4 (GR16) Red Dot

i have the G&G GR16/M4 and i bought the tasco red dot scope (50$) but whenever i mount it onto my rail, the front sites are in the way of the red dot... is there any way to take the sights off of the G&G GR16/M4 CARBINE?

Remove the hex screw underneath the front sight, pop off the roll pins, then slide out the front sight after removing the flash hider.

I forgot to mention, if you are running the plastic hand guard then you'll need a front sight of some sort (stock or flip up) in order to keep the hand guard in place.

Really? It should be standard pretty much for all Armalites. Another option is to use a raiser mount.

True, they are fake, the G&G is Fucked up like that. The Front Sight is sorta welded on the barrel. A one peice.
There was a thread about it a while ago, cant find it though.

WTF are you talking about Since my M4 started as the same gun as the OP. I'll help explain.

The small grub screw they are talking about is found under the sight but above the front sling hook. If you can't get at it remove the sling hook by punching out the roll pin. This is a giant pain!!!! as its in there tight. (insert sexual remark here) I got fed up trying to remove mine as I didn't want it on anyway and cut the sling hook and pin.

After that screw is out you need to punch out the 2 pins that are on the front and rear of the sight. On one side it will be flush and on the other side there should be 2 small bumps(insert another sexual joke here).

Now remove the grub screw from the bottom of the flash hider as well and turn the flash hider clockwise to remove it. At this point the sight can be removed.

The reason the G&G ones are hard to remove is that the pins that are on the font and rear sit in indents on the barrel and make it hard to remove.

What he said.

I removed my front sight by simply loosening the hex screw, then punching out the 2 small pins, then sliding her off (After removing the flash hider of course)

and yes that damn roll pin is a pain, I just snapped the thing off lol.
