ICS Hop-Up Situation
I have an ICS M4 and i am trying to replace the hop-up spacer with a shredder's concave spacer. The situation I have is that I can't get the stock one out. It seems to be fixed to the hop-up unit and not removable. Does anyone know whether it is permenatly fixed or am I just doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, The nub should be easily removed from an ICS hop up.
Did you disassemble your hop-up unit to remove the nub and replace it with the shredder spacer? |

so what i did was, i took the inner barrel/hop-up out of the gun. I then took the inner barrel out of the hop-up. I was told that with the barrel out of the hop-up and the rubber removed, the nub should just fall out, how ever it doesn't.
I can see it going up and down inside the hop-up when i turn the adjustment nob but it just doesnt want to come out. |

You have to remove the metal pin beside the adjustment wheel to take apart the upper section of the hop up unit.
There will be two plastic pieces and a spring. The nub is seated on the plastic arm and can easily be removed. While you have everything out, you can install your new shredder spacer as well. I'm currently experimenting with mine atm but you might want to use a bit of hot glue to hold the spacer in place. There is a thread on here describing how to install the SCS, just seach around for it if you need more info. |
