I got a real "spent" M72 (complete with endcaps and sling) a few years ago (easy to get legally considering the military considers fired ones to be along the same lines as a spent bullet casing), still haven't tried to modify it to use compressed gas or something to be able to fire a Nerf football or whatever. Heck, I have a pile of real C9 parts (including bipod and stock), need to buy an M249 when I can afford (I'm no support gunner, so shelling out a pile of cash for something someone else can use).............
Of course, if the ATF found out you had a spent M72 tube in your possession, they'd arrest you and likely tell the media that it was very easily modified to be able to fire a nuclear Tomahawk missile anywhere in the world from your location, and act as if they were heroes of national security for the cameras.
