parts popping when assembling a JG Ver2 mechbox?
long story short I'm trying to downgrade my JG Ver2 mechbox from VelocityArms to in door shooting speed. No problem, dissamble the gun, pull out the mech box, open it up and install the new Modify S90 spring. Great.
Now, trying to reassemble it is becoming a nightmare. Everything fits perfectly, but my anti-reversal latch keeps on popping out every time I let go of it. To make matters worst, the trigger also pops out leaving my hands stuck on two pieces while I'm trying to close the shell. So does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make sure those two parts don't pop while I try to put the other half of the shell back on? Or should I just give up with this JG Mechbox and get something more reliable? Thanks guys! |

that is the problem with clone internals and boxes. things don't fit right and have a lot of play in it.
there have been several threads where people suggest ways to keeps bits in place as you close the box. it takes time and practice. search the forums and you should find some. I'm sure I've suggested a thing or two but I've moved on from trying to fidget with the clone boxes and parts. for the anti reverse latch, use some white lithium grease to hold it still. |

Get a second pair of hands, or hold things down with a small screwdriver pinned under your leg/knee.

I know a gundoc that uses a tiny dab of crazy glue on the anti-reversal latch. It's just enough to hold it while he assembles the shell but breaks free with the first trigger pull.

Use hemostats to hold the anti-reverse lever and a pair of self closing tweezers with long thin curved ends to hold the trigger in place in the left casting half until the half’s are almost closed, then use a scribe to reach through the right hand casting and pull and push the bushing and the anti-reverse lever and safety inter-lock into place for the final 1/16" alignment and bob's your uncle.

Lolzzzz it doesnt have anything to do with it being a clone now if this is an ics two piece it would be a different matter.
Best solution was already given, get someone to help you hold stuff. Watch some videos on how to assemble and disassemble a gearbox. You will notice that sometimes people will let the other half of the gear box close just enough to keep things from popping up then use jewellery screw drivers to get the gears in the bearings/bushings. And nope no crazy glue needed just patience and practice. |

I shove a couple fingers through the shell of so I can hold the cylinder and spring in and then gently lay the top half of the shell down. Some days it all clicks together no problems, and other days you wrestle it for a while.
It can also help to work the trigger spring all the way down with a small pick, and make sure the AR latch is engaged to help it stay in place. If it's a real headache you can leave out the spring guide and spring and just get a feel for to snap the two halves of the box together.

get a set of dental picks. they work wonders and are super cheap. and yes some white lithium works well to hold things in place.
is the AR different on v2 compared to v3? i never had an issue with mine. only my metal spring guide lol... there is a nice dent in my wall from it and was a mark on my buddies chest lol. |

Welcome to the great world of gun repairs. I have a quick and easy solution for you: Step1: Put all the parts in a large zip bag. Step2: Contact a local gundoc. Step3: Get your gun fixed by someone who knows what he is doing. There is no magic solution. It can happen on V2 just like on any other version (actually V3s are worst when shit hit the fan, with a two parts trigger). You need experience to have a bunch of tricks that can overcome all situations. |

^^^ yups while tm might have better quality control and better gearbox tolerances (gotta love the japs with QC except toyota). I've seen lemons from other high end brands giving head aches out of the box (like mis aligned gear axles from CA, mis feeds/double feeds from G&G even a PTW breaking in half out of misuse).
This doesnt mean that "clone" brands arent workable. Patience and practice in time it will be easier, believe me i own one. (i dont know how bad is the arms race here but in my country china "clones" come in 400-420fps oob and only needs shimming and greasing) |

Than how would he or anyone ever learn how to do this stuff on their own? Its really not rocket science and is absolutly nothing to be scared of. Just do not try and do anything the first time an hour before your game or something silly like that.... because no it won't be back together lol. |

For the trigger, try to push the spring where it touches the mechbox itself farther down. I found that when I do that on my JG V2 mechbox, the trigger will stay in place quite nicely. For the latch, I haven't found a good solution yet.

for the anti-reverse, a good trick is to put it in place and then turn the bevel gear until the AR clicks into the next slot. Most times the tension will keep it in place. Moving the end of the spring down flat against the box helps too, as mentioned earlier.
For the trigger, lay the box down, get it settled and then stretch your hand over the cylinder and trigger starting from the top. Lay the top in place over you hand, slide the spring and guide into place and then SLOWLY slide your hand out of the box while moving your fingers over the top to hold the cylinder and spring firm. This leaves very little space for the trigger to slip. V2 is easy. V3 triggers used to give me nightmares. With practice, this gets pretty easy. Good Luck.
