Your battery is likely a NiMH since 8.4V is a 7 cell configuration and I believe that typically NiCD max out at ~1800mah.

If this is the case and you haven't touched your batteries in a while they may be done or in the need or conditioning. NiMH need to be conditioned every month if they are not used. I believe it was Madmax that posted this link:

What did I say about reading? No, NiMH do not need to be "conditioned" if they are not used in a month. They can be stored for a few months after you charge them.

Today being friday,I let the battery stand off the charge since last
till 7pm tonight. It had a good charge on the 1 setting for a whole day.
I plugged it in tonight and it was dead.I didn't use it,just unplugged
the charger from it and a day later plug it into my gun.I now have the
2300mah back on the charger on the 1 setting. This very frustrating.

Is there any kind of integral fuse in your charger? Maybe it's blown and isn't actually transferring any power?

I don't know what kind of charger/wires you have but are you sure you have +ve to +ve etc? I was reverse charging a pack because I put the wires into the wrong slots on the mini tamiya.

I accidentally reversed the wires on a small to large connector swap, because they are opposite and I did thre minis at the same time, I reversed one, and couldn't figure out why the output fuse on my charger kept blowing until I realised my reversal.

I have been told that these batteries of mine are on the low end
of quality. And I should discharge them after every game. Ni CD

Pictures would be greatly helpful. If you can try borrowing a battery from a friend. I wonder if it's possible if the connections between the cells is damaged.

My suggestion at this point is to go and buy a quality battery(s)
